GENIUS HOUR: Parent and Community Volunteers Needed as Instructors

Genius Hour needs your support! Due to our staff cuts and reorganizing our student schedules, we have fewer teachers and specialist available to teach our wonderful Genius Hour classes. Genius Hour is intended to offer students an opportunity to learn a new skill, craft, hobby or interest in a small class setting. To have a successful Genius Hour program with smaller class sizes, we are looking for volunteers to co-lead a Genius Hour course.
Parent or community volunteers are needed to co-lead one or two Genius Hour classes per grade for each Genius Hour session. The commitment is one hour, one day per week for eight to nine weeks. Do you have a special talent, skill or interest that you think a 1st-5th grader may like to try out? Have you always wanted to teach kids how to knit? Do you know how to lead kids in fun and engaging science experiments? Do you have musical talents to share? If you answered yes or have other exciting ideas for potential classes, we would love for you to apply to be a Genius Hour instructor.
